THOUSANDS of people watched a unique and spectacular Christmas lights switch-on show in Taunton yesterday.
Royal Marines from Norton Manor Camp-based 40 Commando joined forces with performance experts Cirque Bijou for an aerial display near the Market House.
The display featured acrobats performing below a dazzling white angel suspended from a crane above the crowds - more pictures and video will appear here soon.
Royal Marines performed a dare-devil sketch along the roof of the Market House, hunting down a rogue goblin who had stolen a presents from the elves. The commandos also abseiled down the Market House.
There was then a rousing firework display.
During the day children and families enjoyed music, entertainment, rides, food and stalls.
