STAWLEY Primary School has received high praise in the latest Ofsted inspection.
The school, at Appley Cross near Wellington, was assessed as ‘good with many outstanding features’ in the latest report.
It highlighted the effectiveness of the school in “ensuring that the majority of outcomes for pupils are outstanding.”
Staff’s ability to help pupils develop excellent personal, social and moral skills was also praised.
Teaching across the school was assessed as consistently good with an excellent curriculum.
As a result, the report confirms that outcomes for individuals and groups of pupils were outstanding with pupils’ attainment in key stage one and key stage two significantly above average in English and Maths.
Head teacher Lindsay Gabriel said: “This is a fantastic achievement for the school and it is wonderful to have our hard work and achievements acknowledged.
“Stawley Primary is a very special school and we are constantly seeking to improve the provision for our pupils in all areas of the curriculum and in our broad range of extra curricular activities.”
