AFTER a winter of hard training, Wellington School’s fencers have started the competition season with some notable successes.
Jessica Gundry, 16, came first in the epee and second in the foil competitions at the South-West U-16 Championships, which qualified her for the national finals.
Jade Clarke, 14, is also through to the finals on account of being last year’s winner.
She has recently returned from competing in the World Championships in Paris, where she finished in the top fifty of 130 And Henry Savage, 13 came sixth in the South-West U-16 foil championships.
