TALENTED musicians at Wiveliscombe Primary School raised the spirits of parents and teachers alike as dozens flocked from the town to their annual summer concert.
Children from the school, who recently celebrated being awarded the prestigious Artsmark Gold by the Arts Council, shared their musical talents in the concert as they performed everything from classical to hip hop.
The school was acknowledged for its commitment to arts education. An examination of dance, drama, music and art and design took place, demonstrating the broad range of arts opportunities in teaching time.
Head teacher Anthony Halsted said: “For many years, Wiveliscombe Primary School has had a well deserved reputation for providing high quality Arts experiences to all children attending the school.
“The school has twice been awarded the Artsmark Gold and we are delighted our efforts have again been recognised.
“At the concert, talented and confident children wowed their audience with high quality singing and enjoyable performances on woodwind, strings, drums and piano ranging from classical to hip hop genres.
“Great fun was had by all.”
