A CARE home chef has hung up his ladle – after serving up around 1,500,000 meals.

Geoffrey Tremethick cooked up 42 years’ service at Calway House, in Calway Road.

Since he began in May, 1970, he saw the home completely rebuilt into an 83-bed facility providing residential, dementia and nursing care.

Past and present staff and other invited guests attended his retirement party at the home.
