Dear Reader, Bridgerton is about to return to our screens and we couldn't be more excited.

It's been a long wait for fans of the regency romance who have been waiting to return to the Ton since the popular Netflix drama dropped in December 2020.

But friends of Lady Whistledown should not despair because series two is almost here.

Here's when Bridgerton returns to Netflix and what we know so far about the next instalment.

When does Bridgerton return?

Netflix confirmed that Bridgerton would return for a second series on March 25 2022 on the show's one-year anniversary.

Fans will only be able to stream the popular show on Netlfix from that date.

It is a Netflix original series - in partnership with Shondaland - so you'll need your subscription along with your dance card ready!

We expect there to be eight roughly one-hour episodes in series two just like the previous season but we don't currently know for sure.

Bridgerton's second series will follow Anthony, as detailed in the second book "The Viscount who loved me" by award-winning author Julia Quinn.

It will also introduce a new diamond of the season with the arrival of the Sharma family and Anthony Bridgerton's ( Jonathan Bailey) love interest Miss Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).

While we might still be mourning the loss of the dashing Duke of Hastings (Regé Jean Page), this author expects there will be just as much passion and drama as the show's first season.

Netflix confirmed that there would be a second season back in January 2021 and even teased fans that a third and fourth series was also in the works back in April last year.

Bridgerton series two will be available to stream on Netflix from March 25 2022.
