Aldi discontinues popular Choceur Dark Chocolate bar

The supermarket giant has discontinued a range of products in recent years, including:

• Very Berry Muesli
• Dairyfine Blonde chocolate bar
• Village Bakery Seeded Medium Sliced Loaf
• Moser Roth Vegan Blonde chocolate bar
• Savour Bakes Water Biscuits

Aldi discontinues one of its "most popular" chocolate bars

Now, Aldi has confirmed it has axed its Choceur Dark Chocolate Bar.

This chocolate bar was part of its well-liked Choceur range, which features various flavours, including:

• Cookies & Cream
• Dark Hazelnut
• Fruit & Nut
• Caramel
• Milk Almond

One customer raised the issue on social media, saying the dark chocolate variant was unavailable.

The shopper, posting on X (formerly Twitter), said: "@AldiUK Have you stopped selling large Choceur dark chocolate bars?

"They used to have big cardboard trays which held 3 flavours—white, milk and dark.

"The dark was the most popular so always sold out first which was so annoying, but now it seems to be unavailable."

Aldi responded to confirm the discontinuation.

The supermarket replied: "Sorry to say that we have discontinued this item at this moment in time.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this."

The customer pressed Aldi for a reason, noting that the dark chocolate was consistently in high demand.

Aldi said: "There are a range of reasons an item can be discontinued, but sadly I don't have access to the specific one, I'm afraid."

Fans on Facebook are already calling for the chocolate bar's return.

One shopper, posting on Aldi UK, commented: "Aldi UK please bring back the Choceur plain dark chocolate bar!

"The new substitute you have is not half as good!!

"You have all the flavours of the choceur bars except for dark chocolate…why!?"

An Aldi spokesperson said its range of products are continually under review "to make sure we’re meeting the needs of Aldi shoppers".

The spokesperson added: "We’ve recently introduced exciting new flavours to our Choceur range, including Cookies & Cream and Peanut Butter, while customers can still choose from a variety of dark chocolate bars.”

Choceur Dark Chocolate has not completely disappeared from Aldi stores, with Mini Tablet 5-packs still available, according to the supermarket's website.

Aldi has been contacted for further comment.
