FIREFIGHTERS were called to a residential property near Taunton after a bin lorry collided with a house and brought down power lines.
Two fire appliances and a rescue tender from Taunton were mobilised at around 8.40am today (May 19) after reports of a crash on Manor Road, in Staplegrove.
Crews confirmed on arrival that a bin lorry had collided with a house and firefighters made the vehicle safe.
Western Power Distribution were requested to attend due to an electric cable on the roof of the lorry and BT were requested to repair damaged telephone lines.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "We were called at 8.37am to reports of a crash at a residential property on Manor Road in Staplegrove.
"A bin lorry crashed into a residential property and brought down some power lines.
"The road was closed in both directions until 10.48am.
"No one was injured."
