STARGAZERS were in for a treat last night as a the 'super blue moon' was visible in the sky.
The rare celestial event is a combination of the moon being at its closest point to earth (or super moon), the second full moon in a month (or blue moon), and a lunar eclipse, when the earth casts a red shadow on the moon.
The full show wasn't visible to astronomers in the UK. Although we were able to see the blue moon, the eclipse wasn't visible over Europe.
But it was still a sight to behold!
Did you get any great photos of the moon last night?
