POLICE say they have now been able to identify the key witness.

POLICE are trying to identify a man they believe could be a witness to robbery in a Somerset shop.

Officers have released CCTV images of a man they think could have important information about the incident in Best One store, in Weston-super-Mare.

The culprit entered the premises shortly before 6pm on Monday, November 22.

Police say he threatened staff with a knife before taking money from the till.

He is described as black, aged 30 to 35-years-old, around 5ft 5in tall, of medium build, and was wearing a black jacket with the hood up, black jeans and a black face mask.

He left the store in the direction of Wooler Road.

Police believe the man in the CCTV pictures may have seen what happened and may be able to assist with their investigation.
