THE FAMILY of a Lithuanian man who tragically died after he was hit by a car on the A358 have paid tribute to him.

Vytautas Lazdauskas, 25 was walking with three other pedestrians at around 11.40pm on November 12 when he was hit by a car near the Folly Drive junction in Stewley, between Taunton and Ilminster.

Mr Lazdauskas was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family of Mr Lazdauskas issued this statement: “Vytautas, who was known as Vytas, was only 25.

"He came to the UK after having a very difficult life in Lithuania.

"He moved to the UK to support his family and had worked hard to help us.

“It is the second son we have lost.

"We were missing him a lot and when we asked him when he was coming home to visit us, he said ‘very soon Mum.’

“He always had a smile on his face. We will really miss him.”
