DON’T miss your chance to win the new Taunton Monopoly game in a special social media competition.

However, it seems the new game may not have been the first, as the launch brought back memories of another popular board game to hit the shops a few decades ago.

Gay Millar came across her copy of the Taunton Deane Dilemma, which was brought out in the 1980s and 1990s after reading of the new Taunton game.

Taunton Deane Dilemma featured several local companies, many of which no longer exist.

The County Gazette was the ‘go’ square, while Hatcher’s, County Stores and Calvert’s were also handed prime spots.

Gay said: “I came across it in my attic and was going to take it to a car boot sale.

“I remember winning it in a raffle years ago.”

Somerset County Gazette:

Meanwhile, the town is still buzzing after the release of the Taunton Monopoly.
