A spokesman for Wilkie May and Tuckwood said: "The local community has always mattered to Summerfield Homes & Wilkie May & Tuckwood, so when they discovered TAH’s Christmas Shoe Box Appeal it seemed the perfect cause to support this festive season.

"We have been astounded at the response from members of the public and local businesses to the appeal, it has been so heart-warming to see the reaction from our local community.

"The appeal is all about giving those without a home some hope for the future, to let them know they are not alone and that someone out there is thinking of them this Christmas time."

The amount of boxes donated meant that each client at TAH received two boxes to enjoy at Christmas time.

The charity praised the generosity of the community.

A spokesman for TAH said: "We were absolutely thrilled by the response to this year's homeless shoebox appeal. The generosity of our kind community meant we were able give out two shoeboxes each to our clients, who were delighted to receive such lovely gifts for Christmas.

"It certainly put a big smile on lots of faces at what is a difficult time for them.

"We'd like to thank everyone who contributed, everyone who volunteered to help us get the gifts out in time and a big thank you to Wilkie May and Tuckwood and Summerfield Developments for supporting us through this fantastic campaign."
