A TAUNTON store and its director have been hit with large fines after serving alcohol to an underage person.
A boy aged 16 managed to buy booze at The Polish Supermarket, in Bridge Street in December 2016.
He had been sent in as a 'decoy' customer by trading standards to check to see if the shop would serve someone under 18.
Shop owner Pro Infinty Ltd's director Damian Lukasz Jankowski, 40, of Meadow Rise, St Columb Major, in Devon, was fined £145, with a £30 victim surcharge and costs of £300 after pleading guilty.
Justices at Taunton Magistrates' Courts deemed that the crime was "attributable to your (Jankowski's) neglect as director of the company".
He was accused of not providing "adequate staff training".
Pro Infinity Ltd was fined £290 with a £30 victim surcharge and £600 costs after also pleading guilty.
