AN argument is raging about the e-scooter trial currently taking place in Taunton.

Hundreds of people have bene hiring the scooters to get around town as part of a 12-month trial.

For most of those people, it's been a welcome initiative.

But not everyone's happy.

Michael Sharpe took to Facebook to demand an end to the trial.

He wrote: "Apart from the fact these vehicles travel at 15 mph silently.

"Today I saw the worst case of e-scooter misuse to date.

"Three youths were weaving in and out of shoppers on Fore Street at high speed.

"One of them was sat on the scooter and hardly in full control of the vehicle.

"How long will it be before someone gets hurt?

"Time we got this trial cancelled. e-mail your councillor today."

That post didn't go down too well with Stuart Bangs.

He replied: "The haters are the ones that haven't even used them.

"They are a great idea.

"I hope they stay after the trail.

"Try them, then hate them but you could actually enjoy them."
