Taunton Flower Show traffic restrictions announced

Somerset Council has announced upcoming temporary traffic restrictions to ensure public safety during the shows.

The order will start on Thursday, July 24, and will last for 18 months, covering the 2025 and 2026 events.

The restrictions will only be in place when traffic signs indicate, and emergency vehicles will be exempt.

The restrictions will be in effect from 8am on Thursday, July 31, 2025 until 11pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025, and again from Thursday, August 6, 2026, until Saturday, August 8, 2026.

The first schedule introduces a temporary one-way system allowing clockwise travel only on The Mount, Mountway, and Mount Street.

The second schedule introduces a temporary prohibition of right turn from Mount Street onto the A38 Mary Street, allowing left turns only onto A38 Upper High Street.

This will be enforced during the same periods as the one-way system.

The third schedule details a temporary suspension of parking in two specific areas on The Mount.

This includes seven parking bays adjacent to 4 Billetfield and a limited waiting section adjacent to number 6.

Both areas will be unavailable for parking during the same periods as the previous restrictions.

The final schedule introduces a temporary prohibition of waiting for the entire length of Mount Street.

Members of the public are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow the indicated traffic signs during these times to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all attendees and local residents.
