Dear Editor,
The battle to secure the Killams Park site was fought passionately and over several years.
The estate of 360 mixed housing has been sensitively developed to blend in with the surrounding countryside.
Thousand of tress, hedgerows, and wild flower areas have been planted.
There are open areas, playgrounds, and sculptures.
It is a joy to see children play safely and joggers and parents pushing pushchairs round the paths.
The ponds, which were installed to reduce flooding the area, will become habitats for a variety of wild creatures.
Walk to the top of the estate, and you will see the most spectacular sunsets, and if you listen carefully, an errant pheasant.
If there were awards for new-build housing projects, then Killams Park should receive recognition.
