TAUNTON racing driver Euan Hankey has set his sights on world domination this weekend as he heads to the Formula BMW World Final in Valencia.

The 19-year-old had a frustrating season in the UK Championship on his way to a fourth-placed finish - but he insists he's in great shape to challenge the leaders at the Circuit de la Comunitat.

Hankey completed his final preparations at Brands Hatch last weekend and liked what he saw from his Fortec Motorsport team.

"Everything has gone to plan so far and the tests at Brands Hatch over the last couple of weeks couldn't have gone much better," Hankey said.

"We've got a few gremlins out of the way and I ran the new gearbox in and sorted out my seat positioning. We've done everything we possibly can - now we've got to do the business in Valencia and go for it."

Hankey - currently studying for a Business and Real Estate degree at Oxford Brookes - is no stranger to the Spanish track.

Part of his BMW scholarship took him to Valencia two years ago and when he makes his second visit, Hankey is hoping to put into practice what he learnt at last year's World Final in Bahrain.

"Valencia is a drivers circuit with a lot of corners and plenty of opportunities for overtaking," added Hankey.

"I got to do more overtaking than I've ever done before in Bahrain and I've got to do that again if I'm going to push the leaders. It was very competitive last year and it's going to be the same again.

"The driver that gets a few breaks and a bit of luck will have a great chance."

Should Hankey reign in Spain he will be given a cheque for $60,000 and get to realise a childhood dream.

A test drive in a BMW Sauber Formula One car in 2007 is the coveted prize and Hankey added: "To win would be amazing and the drive in an F1 would be the chance of a lifetime."
