WELLINGTON's Sunday XI put on a strong all round performance at Stogumber yesterday, scoring 299-7 and then dismissing their hosts for 134.

Wellington batted first and saw Robin Davies and Tom Hawkings add 23 first wicket runs as the short off side boundaries came into play; they were breached many times as Alex Sparks hit 104 with eight sixes in quick time.

Good middle order runs from Des Campbell with 33 and Ollie Wilkins with 38 set the platform for Rob Moysey with 62 not out to take Wellington to within one run of 300 in their 40 overs.

Stogumber batted at a good pace, but lost wickets all the time as Ollie Wilkins and Macaulay Campbell removed the top five in 11 overs with 2-28 and 2-21 respectively.

Home skipper D.Godfrey with 23 and B.Howe with 38 not out added gloss to Stogumber' s innings, but good bowling from Ben Evett, Alex Troake and Rob Moysey - plus three run-outs - saw the game over with 14.2 overs left.
