ALFONSO Thomas is making a good recovery from the hamstring injury he sustained during the Yorkshire Bank 40 game at Grace Road against Leicestershire on May 26.
Thankfully the 36-year-old bowler is almost fit again and is raring to get going.
He said: “Things are going well and I’m almost back to full fitness so it shouldn’t be too long before I am ready to play.
“It has been very frustrating to have to sit on the sidelines and watch the boys out in the middle.”
“My injury has given me a bit of time at home to catch up with some of the jobs that I haven’t been able to do and I was also able to go and watch my son Josh play cricket for Somerset Under-10s.
“But I want to get back playing as soon possible.”
“I’m hoping that I might be fit for the YB40 game against the Unicorns at Truro tomorrow and then the match against Leicestershire at Taunton on Sunday.
Thomas added: “After being beaten at Grace Road a couple of weeks ago we will be looking to put things straight when Leicestershire come down here to play us.”
