TAUNTON Town are back in Calor League action at Wordsworth Drive today when they entertain Didcot Town, kick-off 3pm.

Three points will certainly be the target for the Peacocks against the Oxfordshire side who lay two places above the basement spot.

Didcot have mustered just a single point from five games on their travels so far this season and are in the process of searching for a new first team manager.

However Town boss Leigh Robinson, whose team are sitting in mid-table with 13 points from as many matches, is certainly not counting his chickens.

He said: “It’s a fixture we need to be wary of. Despite Didcot being near the bottom, this is the sort of division where anyone can beat anyone on the day due to really small margins.

“However if we play to our potential and replicate a performance anywhere near the level we showed at Merthyr then we’ll have plenty enough to win.”

Town will virtually be back at full strength for the Didcot encounter with Rob Norrish returning after a one game ban and long-term injury victim Simon Ingram also back in the squad.

The only doubt is centre half Steve Kingdon who has been suffering with a virus.

On Tuesday evening Taunton take on Bridgwater Town in the second round of the Somerset Premier Cup at Wordsworth Drive, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Peacocks will be out to avenge the defeat they suffered in an FA Cup replay earlier in the season.

On the following evening, Taunton Under 18s travel to Ashton and Backwell in the Somerset Floodlight Youth League, kick-off 7.30pm.
