MINEHEAD'S veteran snooker star Rita Holmes has been receiving some professional tips as she prepares for the World Championships in April.
The spritely 73-year-old, British Women's champion four times in the 1950s and 60s, was unable to play for 15 years after suffering a back injury.
But she made a suprise recovery last year and celebrated by entering the British Championships, reaching the last eight.
And this week, she has been coached by world ranked 28 player Dominic Dale, who is also a snooker historian.
Rita said: "Dominic contacted me after reading an article about me in a magazine.
"He came down to speak to me and also gave me some advice at the Dunster Castle snooker hall where I practise.
"It was great to meet him and he was very helpful with the World Championships starting in April."
