Devon and Exeter League Senior 1: Topsham Town 1, Wellington Res 1.
WELLINGTON Reserves moved up to fourth after claiming a point from a feisty encounter at Topsham Town.
Fielding a much-changed side, containing a number of first teamers, Wellington took a while to get going and fell behind in the first few minutes when a free kick was headed home.
The physical Topsham side enjoyed the better of the first half but failed to add to their lead.
After the break, Wellington looked a far hungrier outfit and took control of the game despite some rash challenges flying in from the home side.
After going close on a number of occasions, the leveller eventually came when Tim Legg stabbed the ball home after a goalmouth scramble.
The visitors continued to press in search of a winner but Topsham held firm to take a share of the points.
The reverse fixture takes place this Saturday at Wellington.
Meanwhile, Wellington will entertain Devon and Exeter Premier Division side Clyst Valley in the semi-final of the East Devon Senior Cup after being reinstated.
They lost 5-0 at Exeter St Martins in the last round but the home team fielded an inelligible player.
