Somerset County League Division 1: Bishop Sutton Res 4, Watchet Town 1.

WATCHET Town were left to rue a host of missed chances as they suffered defeat for the second week running.

Bishop Sutton, whose first team were without a game, looked a far sharper outfit than the one beaten 4-1 at Watchet last month.

But they could have found themselves behind in the opening few minutes when Chris Sully had a shot blocked by the keeper from close range.

Watchet were then denied a penalty when Ben Saddington appeared to to be tripped from the resulting rebound. Saddington also had an effort well saved by the hosts' keeper soon after.

But it was Sutton who took the lead in the tenth minute of injury time, added on for a lengthy delay due to an injury to a Sutton player.

The lead was doubled after the break and, after a period of pressure, Watchet pulled one back when Sully netted from close range after a Steve Wild corner.

Matt Cox and Chris Bishop both had excellent chances to pull Watchet level before Sutton restored their two-goal advantage.

And they sealed victory with a penalty in the closing minutes when Sully was penalised for handling in the area despite appearing to chest the ball down.

Watchet will hope to bounce back this Saturday when they entertain Nailsea Town.
