Somerset County League Division 2 (W): Creech St Michael 4, Yatton 2.

CREECH St Michael moved five points clear at the top with a comfortable win at home to Yatton last Saturday.

The victory enabled them to stretch their advantage over title rivals Burnham Utd Reserves who were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Nailsea Utd Reserves.

The home team took the lead on 15 minutes when Dean Yarde's cross was volleyed in by Mark Symons.

They doubled the advantage just past the half hour mark when Robert Perry scored from outside the box after good work from Yarde and Symons, but Yatton pulled a goal back just before the break.

The two-goal lead was restored seven minutes after the break when Yarde, once again, turned provider for Andy Collins to head home at the far post.

Barry Derrick made it 4-1 on 65 minutes with a fine free kick from the edge of the box and, despite conceding a second with 15 minutes left, Creech took the three points to move them closer to the title.

This Saturday, Creech are away to Congresbury.
