STAPLEGROVE sneaked into the semi-finals of the KO Cup after defeating Division One leaders Porlock 1-0 in a closely-fought tie.

The only goal of the game came from Joe Holmes in the first half, although Porlock squandered a great chance to level after the break when they missed a penalty.

Second division side Westonzoyland are also into the last four after defeating top flight side Sampford Blues 4-0 with Chris Bland, Neil Barnett, Nathan Barnard and Nigel Gillard on target.

Holders Bridgwater Sports had a comfortable 5-1 win at home to Wellington 3rds with Craig McGann netting four.

Middlezoy Rovers needed extra time to defeat Division Two leaders Staplegrove Reserves who took an early lead through Kirk Reece. Sean Boobyer equalised for Rovers who went though after extra time with Max Cushing getting the winner.

In Division One, Wyvern seized the chance to close the gap on the leading sides with an emphatic 8-3 win over Norton Fitzwarren. Joe Butler, Gareth Conway and Mark Wooliscroft all scored twice with Ross McGough and Ian Bishop adding one each.

Bishops Lydeard Reserves picked up a much-needed point with a 3-3 draw against Locomotives. Jamie Welsh (2) and Andy Haymond scored for Lydeard with Simon Buckley, Steve Burley and Nick Coles netting for Locomotives. Taverners had a 2-0 victory over Highbridge Town with Tommy Wadham hitting both.

Wellworthy Saints were denied the chance of topping Division Two as they went down 5-3 against Spaxton.

Intermediate Cup finalists Dulverton seem unable to replicate their cup form in the league, going down 2-0 to Hamilton who had Karl Greenhoff and Adrian Farrell on target.

Civil Service won 4-0 away to Sydenham Rangers with George Painter (2), Rob Allen and Chris Griffen getting the goals.

In Division Three Nether Stowey remain top despite not playing, although Bridgwater Sports Reserves closed the gap with a 4-0 win at home to Highbridge Reserves.

Milverton also closed the gap on the top sides by beating Staplegrove Colts 4-3 with Stu Rich scoring a hat trick. But their best goal was a 25-yarder from Mark Wood. George Pope scored two for the Grove and Dan Sizer one.

Wyvern Reserves won 5-1 at Watchet Town Reserves.

North Petherton picked up three away points beating White Hart Rangers 4-2 with Ryan Hocking, Brady Hart, Grant Mercer and Nick Richards on target. Adam Crossman and Craig Hooper responded for Rangers.

Predators won 3-2 at home to Alcombe Rovers Reserves with Matt Washer scoring two and Gary Head one.

Division Four leaders Hemyock made it 19 games unbeaten with a 6-2 victory over Old Inn All Stars. George Banfield and James Aldridge both scored two while Sam Morgan and Darren Salter added the others. Adrian Lock and Gavin Walsh scored for the All Stars.

Wembdon are still fighting to keep in touch and a 9-0 win at Norton Dragons didn't harm their cause. Dave Warren was the day's leading marksman with five.

Westonzoyland Reserves won their third game of the season, defeating Swallowfield 4-1, while the West Somerset derby between Dulverton Reserves and Porlock Reserves ended honours even at 2-2. Damien Syrett and Craig Rushton scored for Dulverton. Hamilton Reserves and Exmoor Rangers drew 1-1 with Dominic Cavill and Jimmy Baker scoring for their respective sides.

Williton won 5-1 at home to Wyvern Foxes with Matt Lovell (2), Andrew Davey, Lee Knowles and Adam Knowles on the scoresheet. Clive Gamlin got the Foxes' consolation.
