WATCHET Town have no revised fixture this weekend following Dundry Athletic’s pre-season withdrawal from the Premier Division – so their next game is at home to Nailsea United on January 7.

Minehead’s scheduled home match against Highbridge Town on Christmas Eve was postponed as the visitors failed to raise a side – the match is now scheduled to be played on April 22.

The Blues will try again today when they travel to Combe St Nicholas (ko 2pm).

A run of consistent performances from Minehead will put them in with a realistic chance of promotion as they enter the new year.

Combe are struggling near the bottom of the table but gave second-placed side Ilminster a run for their money on Christmas Eve before going down to a 2-1 defeat.

The rugby winter break continues until January 7, when Minehead Barbarians return to action at home to Wyvern in Somerset One.

The Barbarians will be looking to continue their fine form which has seen them on the fringes of promotion back to Somerset Premier.

Minehead’s 2nd XV travel to Winscombe 2nd XV in Somerset Two.
