MINEHEAD rugby star Danielle Waterman has been named in England's squad for the upcoming Test series against Canada.

The 32-year-old, who played a key role in the side's run to this summer's World Cup final before cruelly missing the showpiece event through injury, is part of the 28-woman squad who will convene on November 13.

Waterman, who plays at full-back, made the switch from Bristol to Wasps in the close season and is one of 18 members of the World Cup squad to have been named in the latest selection.

Head coach Simon Middleton said: “We’re really excited; we know the challenge will be different this season.

"We have new additions to the squad, a good combination of experience but also some new and exciting talent.

"We have full confidence that they can come up to standard quickly and showcase their talents, with our more experienced players leading from the front and setting the example that the youngsters need to follow."
