TAUNTON punters have got an extra race to look forward to tomorrow, meaning that the start time for the seven-race Totepool Autumn Meeting has been brought forward to 12.20pm.

And that’s not all, because 69 runners have now been declared, including Comely - which is owned by Her Majesty The Queen, trained by Nicky Henderson and ridden by Nico de Boinville - in the 1.20pm.

In addition to Henderson all of the leading trainers have got runners, including Paul Nicholls, Philip Hobbs, David Pipe, Alan King, Jonjo O’Neill and Colin Tizzard, while leading jockeys Nick Schofield, Aidan Coleman, Noel Fehily and De Boinville are all riding.

The most valuable race on the card is the Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (Class 3) over two miles seven furlongs at 1.50pm, when a prize pot of £16,000 is up for grabs.

Ballyegan, trained by Bob Buckler on the Quantocks and a four-time winner at Taunton, returns to action in the 2.50pm after a break of 182 days, while another local trainer Alex Dunn has engaged Harry Cobden to ride Gold Mountain, a winner at Taunton back in April, in the 1.20pm, so both are worth a look.

Racegoers are reminded that a courtesy coach departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the opener at 10.20am, and returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
