TAUNTON Junior Volleyball Club continue to impress and have risen to third in the South West League.
Over the last two weekends, the team of 14 to 16-year-olds have recorded victories over women almost twice their age.
Coach Jurek Jankowski said: “It has taken four years to get these girls to this standard.”
Taunton entered the league for the experience and, having won the last four matches, have climbed to third in the table. This included wins against Royal Wootton Bassett (3-1), Bristol Ladies 3 (3-2), Kernow (3-1) and Cardiff Jets (3-0).
This is a good preparation for the Under-16s National Cup competition next year, where the team are aiming to finish in the top three.
Taunton Junior Volleyball Club train on a Tuesday evening at Wellsprings Leisure Centre, followed by an adult session.
