Local racegoers have got a feast of action to look forward to when Taunton host their first meeting of 2018, Love Musgrove Raceday, on Tuesday afternoon where big fields have been declared for each of the seven races the first of which is due off at 12.35pm, writes Richard Walsh.

All of the leading trainers including Paul Nicholls, Colin Tizzard, Philip Hobbs, Nigel Twiston-Davies and David Pipe are represented and all of the top jockeys including Richard Johnson, Sam Twiston-Davies, Tom Scudamore, Aidan Coleman and Nick Schofield are all booked to ride. 

The big race on the card is The Hawksmoor Investment Handicap Chase at 2.10pm which is worth £9,300 to the winner. 

Two of the horses expected to be in contention are Relentless Dream, trained by Rebecca Curtis and ridden by James Bowen, and Broadway Buffalo ridden by Scudamore for Pipe. 

A courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the first race and returns 30 minutes after the start of the last.
