TAUNTON Deane Water Polo Club players were prominent within the teams representing Somerset this month, with some spectacular results.
The men’s team were outstanding, beating all that came before them.
After seeing off Devon 9-8, then Dorset (last year’s winners) 6-4, they finally beat Gloucestershire 15-7 to bring the cup back to Somerset.
Five players were from Taunton – Rob Pryke, Mike Cowdell, Milo Barrett, James Carter and Bryan White.
The Somerset ladies team was made up entirely of Taunton Deane players.
They faced the Devon and Gloucestershire teams, both of whom have numerous players who have represented the South West and national teams.
Somerset had two tough matches, but put together some great play and moves to score some brilliant goals in the games.

The 14 and under team was again made up of mostly Taunton Deane players, and they competed against some tough opposition, coming sixth in the South West.
Several of them were back at Taunton Deane training that same night!
