TAUNTON Titans travel to Canterbury tomorrow (ko 3pm), aiming to continue their good form so far in 2018.

The third-placed side have four wins from their last five games (and currently sit on 76 points), while Canterbury lie ninth in the National 2 South table.

Following last Saturday’s win over Bury St Edmunds, head coach Tony Yapp said: “I think we’re out of the title race if I’m totally honest – Cinderford and Chinnor would have to slip up massively for us to catch up with them.

“To finish in third spot would be great and trying to break the 100-point barrier again would be good.

“We’ve got over 100 points for the last three seasons, so to get 100 again would show great consistency, especially with the players who move on to a higher level.

“Most years we have a lot of younger players coming through, and both of our props today are from the league below.

“We’re trying to develop these players – Ben Oliphant-Thompson was at school two years ago and he’s playing National League 2 today.

“We’re working really hard, and I think if we can break the 100-point barrier and finish in third spot, that would be a good season for us.”

BELOW National 2 South, there is a reduced rugby schedule tomorrow.

Wellington do play, though, travelling to Pirates Amateurs in the Cornwall & Devon league, as they aim to continue their title bid.

Minehead Barbarians go to Tor in Somerset Premier, while in Somerset 3 South Taunton 3rds are at Wells 3rds, and in the South West Pilot League Taunton 2nd XV host Dings Crusaders 2nds.
