Taunton host The C&S Electrical Wholesale Raceday on Tuesday afternoon when the first of the six races on the card, which carries £66,744 in prize money, gets underway at 2.10pm.
With soft going and 62 horses declared, local punters look set for another great afternoon of National Hunt action.
All of the top trainers including David Pipe, Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson, Colin Tizzard and Philip Hobb have entries and leading jockeys Tom Scudamore, Sam Twiston-Davies, Nick Schofield, Paddy Brennan and Noel Fehily are among those booked to ride.
The most valuable race on the card is The C&S Electrical Wholesale Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) at 3.45pm, which has got a whopping £18,500 in prizes on offer.
Our Merlin, trained by Robert Walford, and Black Mischief from Harry Fry’s stable are both likely to feature in the outcome of the afternoon’s big race.
Racegoers are reminded that a courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the off, returning from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
