YOUNG cricketers from Somerset enjoyed an afternoon to remember on Saturday as they had the chance to practice their skills with international stars.
England Women, New Zealand Women and South Africa Women were on hand to lead fun activities for the hundreds of children who turned out at the Cooper Associates County Ground, with all staying to sign autographs after the session had finished.
The star of last year's victorious World Cup campaign, Somerset's Anya Shrubsole, was on hand to help out - read her thoughts in Thursday's County Gazette.
The three sides are playing a tri-series in Taunton this week, with the matches as follows:
Wednesday, June 20: South Africa v New Zealand (1pm); England v South Africa (5.40pm)
Saturday, June 23: England v South Africa (1pm); England v New Zealand (5.40pm)
Skipper Heather Knight, who also hails from the Westcountry, described Taunton as a "special place to play" as she looked ahead to the fixtures - see video below:
