TAUNTON Town host a Plymouth Argyle XI tonight (ko 7.45pm), the Peacocks playing their first pre-season friendly of the campaign at home.

Argyle's first team squad are overseas, so the side visiting the Viridor Stadium will likely be made up of reserve team players.

It should still be a good test for the hosts, in terms of fitness and match sharpness against solid, technical players.

With Taunton manager Leigh Robinson on holiday, Michael Meaker and Rob Dray will be in charge, as Peacocks fans get their first chance to watch their team on home soil ahead of their debut Southern League Premier season.

Unlike against Willand Rovers two weeks ago, the whole Taunton squad is available, and summer signing Andrew Neal is set to make his home debut.

Tuesday night's test is followed by another home match against Football League opposition, with Exeter City visiting on Friday (ko 7.30pm).

The Peacocks begin their league campaign on Saturday, August 11 at home to Staines Town.

Their league campaign starts on August 4, away to Westbury United in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division.
