TAUNTON & Pickeridge Golf Club held their RNLI Medal on Saturday with members donating part of their entry to this very worthwhile charity.

In Division One it was Simon Mehrlich (nett 66) who was the winner, with David Lock second on countback from T&P junior captain Bailey Langford after both returned with 69.

In Division Two it was John Wall, with 63, who was the winner, an impressive six shots ahead of second-placed Ian Sutcliffe with 69, while Kevin Pellow was third on 70.

Josh Collins headed the third flight with a storming 62, five clear of his nearest rival Martin Tuffill with 67, with Iain Robertson third on 68.

The Ladies’ Second Club Championship was played over two days - Sunday and Tuesday as a 36-hole medal.

The winner of the Gross Competition and the Championship Cup was Fiona Lockyer with a gross 149, with Helen Hayward second on 161.

The Nett Competition and Nett Salver went to Georgia Richards with 140, one ahead of second-placed Rose Jarvis.

The winner of the Championship Bronze Trophy was Jackie Pike with a gross score of 199.

Twos were scored by Terina Parker and Jackie Pike.

T&P Seniors have continued with their busy season, as Andy Smith (with 40 points) won the Norman Oakley Trophy Individual Stableford from Clive Puttock, who edged into second place ahead of Philip Eve after both scored 38.

The Littleworth Trophy was won by Gary Kayser with 42 points, ahead of runner-up Mervyn Roach with 40, while John Snell was third on 37.

The T&P Seniors have enjoyed mixed fortunes in their team matches over the last few weeks.

They have beaten Honiton 3½-2½ and Oake Manor 5-1, while they drew 3-3 against Yeovil all at home.

However, they haven’t fared so well on the road and have lost out at Enmore, Honiton, Burnham & Berrow and Cricket St Thomas.

DARREN Potter won the Ladies’ Ultimate Collection Trophy at Oake Manor on Sunday with a score of 41 points.

The next three all had 36 but, on countback, Claire Tough came second, Kathy Salway third and Rachel Hughes fourth.

Sixty-six players took part in the men’s Medal on Sunday.

Mike Shaw was the clear winner with an excellent 8 under par nett 62; Tim Day came second with nett 64, Thomas Robbins third with nett 65 and Mark Lecompte fourth, also nett 65.

Pam Akers won Division 1 of the Ladies’ Tuesday Stableford Competition with 38 points, Kathy Salway was second with 35, Janet Howe third with 34 and Shane Bordier fourth, also 34.

Anne Reed won Division 2, scoring 36, Patricia Brown was second, also 36, Rachel Hughes third with 35 and Julie Cross fourth, also 35.

Andrew Ford won the men’s Wednesday midweek stableford scoring an excellent 41, Antony Ford was second, also 41, Adam Cridlin third with 39 and Bob Sanders fourth, also 39.

PRIZE: Theo Culverhouse.

THEO Culverhouse, 13, won the individual prize in the final round of Enmore Park’s match at Mendip Spring Golf Club last weekend.

The 18 handicapper, who lives in Staplegrove and attends Bishop Fox’s School, in Taunton, scored 42 points.

Culverhouse, who has been playing golf for a couple of years and graduated through the Academy programme, wasn’t the only success story on the day.

He was joined by Olly Thomas – third with 37 – and Will Andrews – fifth with 36 points.

Overall, Enmore Juniors came third in the Somerset Juniors Golf League.
