PAST Oake Manor Club captain Lee Ayres won Division 1 of a Bogey Competition run over two days, Saturday and Sunday last week.

Ayres was five up against the course, and the next three players all scored +3, but on countback Simon Molloy was second, Simon Rudd third and Gary Tillett fourth.

Doug Yearsley won Division 2 with +5, Neil Watson was second with +4, Christopher Rudd third, also with +4, and Michael Andrews fourth with +3.

Raymond Dakers did well in Division 3, which he won with his Saturday score of +5 and then came second with his Sunday score, also +5.

Francis Barnsley came third with +4 and Alan Samuel fourth with +3.

Suzanne Reed won the Ladies Sunday Stableford competition, scoring 36 points; Claire Tough was second with 33 points and Kathy Salway third with 30.

Peter Taylor won the Seniors Grandads Cup, by scoring 43 points in Division 1.

Peter Rabbage was second with 39 points, Andy Brown third with 37 and Glyn Pearce fourth, also with 37.

Colin Gould won Division 2 with 40 points, Bob Trott came second, also with 40 points, Peter Matthews third with 39 and Alan King fourth with 38.

DESPITE the atrocious weather on Saturday, the final of the Osmond Cup took place at Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club.

The field consisted of the winners of each division from the six main qualifying medals throughout the year.

At the end of the day, the winner of the Osmond Cup was Neil Grout, with nett 73, Malcolm Lawrence was second with 74 after countback edged him in front of third-placed Mike Bird who returned with the same score.

On Tuesday, the Ladies’ Section took part in an American Greensomes Stableford, that was won by Katie Guest and Shirley Portis with 42 points.

Second spot was claimed by Marlene Ewens and Janet Kingston with 41 points, one better than Senga Westwater and Theresa Dowsett, who were third with 40 points on countback.

Twos were recorded during the round by Jill Paul, and Janet Smart and Emilia O’Boyle and Mary-Jo Shepherd, whose two was on the par-four fourth hole.

A TEAM from Enmore Park Golf Club won the Pickeridge Bowl at Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club over the weekend.

They defeated Weston-super-Mare 4.5-0.5 in the final, with the results as follows: Taylor Stote won 3&2; Jack Dray won 2&1; James Popham won 6&4; Ryan Brewer a half; Alex Clapp won 5&3.

Enmore Park Ladies played against Enmore Park Juniors for the Packer Cup on Sunday.

Played in good weather, what is always a competitive golfing occasion ended in a victory for the EPGC Juniors.

Despite this being the first taste of playing in a match the juniors played some fantastic shots and all matches were very tight, with the youngsters just winning, all of which bodes well for the future of Enmore Park Golf Club.

The juniors team, captained by Tom Canavan, was - Theo Culverhouse, Will Andrews, Harry Beynon, Matthew Lee, Olivia Lake, Rory Lake, Oscar Hallett and Toby Hallett.

The Ladies team, captained by Sheila Bowden, consisted of Sarah Blake, Lin Brown, Judith Sperring, Linda Moore, Julie Stafford, Anne Elliot Rose, Marylyn Turrell, Anne Perry and Kay Taylor.
