AFTER a week focused on the FA Cup, Taunton Town switch their attention to an FA Trophy tie at home to Weymouth tomorrow (ko 3pm).

The Peacocks exited the cup at the hands of Billericay Town, who won the replay 1-0 on Wednesday night.

But good news comes in the form of Lewis Hall, who has signed from National League North side Hereford.

Hall, a versatile left-sided player, is a product of the Bristol City Academy and played for Gloucester City for three-and-a-half years before joining Hereford this summer.

However, the 23-year-old has now switched to Taunton, who put a seven-day approach to bring him to the Viridor Stadium.

Hall has been injured for the past fortnight, but is likely to be in contention for the Peacocks' away match at Swindon Supermarine on Saturday, November 3.

Tomorrow, though, it’s all about Weymouth’s visit to the Viridor Stadium.

The Dorset side lead the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division South standings, seven points ahead of Taunton (having played one game more), and they ended the Peacocks’ unbeaten league run at 35 games back in August.

The Terras have eight wins from 12 games – the last two of those courtesy of 90th-minute strikes from Brandon Goodship, the division's top goalscorer.

They were also reliant on an 84th-minute goal from Harry Baker to see off Wimborne Town a couple of weeks ago.

In short, they’re not making things easy for themselves, but are still finding a way to win, even if that means dipping into ‘Fergie Time’.

Looking ahead to the match, Taunton head of football Rob Dray said: “They’re a very good side, and these games [against Billericay and Weymouth] are what our players, fans and the club deserve.

“It will be our seventh game in 21 days, but we need to put in another big performance.

“Mental tiredness is a big factor, but we have a resilient group.

“They spark off each other, and make sure our performance levels do not drop.”
