FORMER Taunton Titans player Ben Moon made a winning start to his England career, as he helped his side edge past South Africa at Twickenham on Saturday.
Moon, a 29-year-old prop, scored three tries in 25 appearances for Taunton as a 17-year-old in the 2007/08 season.
He has since gone on to play for Exeter Chiefs, and earned his maiden England call-up for the Autumn Internationals.
England's forwards were outgunned by the Springboks in the first half, but Moon was introduced off the bench for the second period, and the hosts battled back to win a nerve-jangling, topsy-turvy affair 12-11.
Moon's performance drew plaudits, and praise from the Somerset school for whom he is ambassador.
How great to see Mark Wilson, Ben Moon & Zach Mercer roaring in England shirts? 12-11 with 10 to go.

Massive well done to our Rugby ambassador @ExeterChiefs player Ben Moon on his @EnglandRugby selection this Saturday. What an example to everyone @wellingtonsch1 . School sport is about role models and we couldn't wish for a better one. Thank you
