MINEHEAD Ladies Over-45s overcame their Taunton Vale counterparts in a fantastic display of hockey by Somerset’s masters last Sunday, November 4.

They met in the first round of the National Hockey Cup, with the match played at West Somerset College, the home of the newly-formed Minehead Over-45s team.

From the start the game was played in great spirit and friendliness by both teams, and the quality of the hockey showed that you are never too old to play and enjoy the game.

The result was a 4-1 win for newcomers Minehead.

Minehead progress to the second round of the cup, with Vale going into the plate completion where they achieved gold medals two years ago.
