Bishops Lydeard Ladies 5, Torquay United Ladies 1

BISHOPS Lydeard Ladies reclaimed top spot in the South West Women’s Premier Division, with a thumping win over Torquay United on Sunday.

Abi Parr led the way with a hat-trick for the home side, with Holly Miller adding two more, while Dani Harper replied for the visitors.

With Exeter City losing to Keynsham Town Development, Lydeard leapfrogged their Devon rivals to take pole position; there are now four teams separated by three points at the top of the division.

Lydeard are without a game this Sunday, returning to action on November 25.

IN the Somerset County Women's League, Wellington Ladies continued their upturn in form with a 2-2 draw away to Burnham United on Sunday.

Charlotte Phillips and Ebony Sellick secured a share of the spoils for Wellington; Sarah Galley and Jessica Wright netted for the hosts.

Fellow Division 1 side Bishops Lydeard Reserves also drew 2-2, away to Portishead Reserves.

Division 2’s basement club Hamilton Ladies were beaten 22-0 at home by Draycott, for whom Evie Smith scored eight times.

COUNTY League Division 1 side Ash Rangers Ladies were unable to raise a side for their fixture on Sunday.

Ash are after some more players to join their squad, with their numbers reduced by injuries and pregnancies!
