BURNHAM-ON-SEA star Gary Anderson produced his best performance of the tournament to reach the World Darts Championship semi-finals at Alexandra Palace on Saturday afternoon.
Anderson had needed final-set deciders to beat Jermaine Wattimena and Chris Dobey on his way to the last eight, but this was a more convincing win for him, 5-2 over Dave Chisnall.
The two-time world champion hit 18 maximums and had a 103.03 average in seeing off the 12th seed.
Anderson won six of the first seven legs on his way to winning the first two sets, before a 109 finish gave him the third set as well.
Chisnall won a final-leg decider to claim the fourth set, but a 130 gave the Burnham man a 4-1 advantage, and although his opponent pulled another set back, Anderson sealed the 5-2 victory with a 15-darter to finish.
It sets up a potential semi-final against world number one Michael van Gerwen, who faces Ryan Joyce tonight.
The semi-finals take place tomorrow (Sunday), from 7pm, with the final on New Year's Day.
