TAUNTON Town will be looking to rebound from Tuesday's 3-1 defeat at Merthyr Town, as they welcome Dorchester Town to the Viridor Stadium tomorrow (ko 3pm).

The Peacocks were outplayed by their Welsh hosts, and as a result they saw their lead at the top of the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division South standings cut to six points – and it could have been down to four had Weymouth not been held at home by Poole Town.

Now Taunton face Dorchester Town, who are down in 18th (just one point outside of the relegation zone), but have found some better form of late.

The Magpies almost drew with Weymouth on Boxing Day, only to concede a 90th-minute goal, and they overcame Tiverton Town 3-2 on New Year's Day.

Craig Veal and Andrew Neal scored the goals for Taunton in their 2-1 win in October's reverse fixture in Dorchester.

Head of football Rob Dray told the County Gazette: "I think they [Dorchester] are vastly improved.

"We were given a good game at their place and I think they have got better since then.

"The Merthyr manager said to me on Tuesday that the result proved anyone can beat anyone in this league, so we will have to be up for the challenge."

That challenge could be made all the more difficult by injuries in the Taunton camp.

Dray said that Shane White had an X-ray on Wednesday for a suspected broken cheekbone, and with a fracture confirmed, he is out of the running for tomorrow's match.

The boss added: "Bretty [Ryan Brett] has been suffering from tendonitis in his knee and Pierce [Mitchell] has a dead leg which he can't quite shake off, but I would expect them both to be in contention on Saturday."
