TAUNTON Racecourse host their first meeting of 2019 on Wednesday afternoon when the first of the six races on the card goes to post at 1.10pm.

Local punters look set for another exciting afternoon of National Hunt racing action with leading trainers Nicky Henderson, Phillip Hobbs, Paul Nicholls, Emma Lavelle, David Pipe and Dan Skelton all having runners and jockeys Daryl Jacobs, Richard Johnson, Harry Cobden, Harry Skelton and Bryony Frost all booked for rides.

The most valuable race of the day is The HR Dept 'Outs-Horsed' Employer's Employment Advice Handicap Chase over two miles seven furlongs at 2.20pm which is worth over £9k to the winning connections.

This Class 3 event looks like being a contest between Romain De Senan from the Nicholls yard with Harry Cobden on board and Still Believing trained by Evan Williams with Adam wedge on board.

Racegoers are reminded that a courtesy coach departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the first race and returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
