Regional League 3

Bridgwater Jupiter 34, Taunton Vivary 43

BOTH teams started well with neither team able to pull away in the first half.

Jupiter’s strong defence made it hard to Vivary’s attack to find their flow but Vivary managed to take a lead of 21-18 at half-time.

Vivary fought hard in the second half with some positional changes, finding their rhythm and taking their turnovers to goal.

Eventually, Vivary’s persistence paid off and they were able to pull away winners.

Tor Abbey 47, Monmouth 35

MONMOUTH knew it would be a tough game and Abbey started strongly, pulling away to a five-goal lead early on.

The visitors fought hard and closed the gap to be trailing by just one at the end of the first quarter (10-11).

Abbey came out hard and fast in the second quarter, their shots extremely accurate and their tall defence putting pressure on Monmouth’s, who were 26-17 down at half-time.

A swap between Erin at WD and Kim at C worked well but despite accurate distance shooting by GS Vicki Monmouth remained behind (38-25).

They didn’t give up and they came back to win the final quarter by a goal.

Regional League 1
Galmington 35, Aquarians 52

GALMINGTON played their first home game of the second half of the season on Sunday, but top three side Aquarians proved just too strong.

The hosts began well at Taunton Vale, taking an early lead, only for the away side to hit back and end the first quarter three goals up.

Galmington found themselves falling further behind as their errors were punished, and at half time they were six down.

A few tactical switches gave Aquarians something to think about, but they maintained their lead and as tiredness set in for both sides they held on to secure the win.
