JACK Leach's wait to appear in England's series against the West Indies goes on, as the Somerset spinner is the unlucky one to miss out on selection for the second Test.

Yesterday it was announced that Leach had secured a spot in the 12-man squad – fellow spin bowler Adil Rashid returning home for the birth of his second child – but the tourists have opted to only pick one spinner, Moeen Ali, for the match which begins at 2pm (UK time) today.

Stuart Broad comes in to join Ali, James Anderson, Sam Curran and Ben Stokes in England's bowling attack, while Joe Denly replaces Keaton Jennings at the top of the batting order.

The venue for the second Test is the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, in Antigua, so it would have been fitting for Leach to return to the England team at a ground named after a Somerset legend.

However, the "surprisingly green" pitch seems to have put an end to that hope.

Ex-Somerset wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler does play, batting at number six.

England are already chasing the series, going 1-0 down after a 381-run defeat last week.

Full England team for second Test: Rory Burns, Joe Denly, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Ben Foakes, Sam Curran, Stuart Broad, James Anderson.
