TAUNTON Titans are getting ready for their longest journey of the season as they face Bury St Edmunds in National 2 South tomorrow.

The Titans overcame Old Albanians 10-8 on Saturday in a scrappy affair at Hyde Park to stay in touch with their promotion rivals.

The Taunton side are currently fourth in the standings, seven points off second-placed Canterbury and one behind Tonbridge Juddians with a game in hand.

The Titans won the reverse fixture with Bury St Edmunds 50-0 back in October, but the Suffolk outfit have improved since then and sit sixth going into the weekend’s rematch.

Taunton have a good recent record when making the 500-mile round trip, though, winning on each of their three previous visits.

ELSEWHERE this weekend, Wellington face a tough test in Western Counties West, as they welcome second-placed St Austell to the Athletic Ground.

Runaway Somerset Premier leaders Wiveliscombe take on Weston Hornets 2nds, while Minehead Barbarians entertain Oldfield Old Boys.

Taunton Wanderers are at Somerton in Somerset 2 South, and Wyvern host Wincanton in Somerset 3 South.
