TAUNTON Town are aiming to record a fourth straight win and extend their advantage at the league summit to six points as they host Swindon Supermarine tonight (ko 7.45pm).

Second-placed Weymouth won 3-2 at Hendon last night to narrow the gap to three points, with the top two both having played 31 games.

With an investigation underway into "alleged incidents" in Saturday's win over Farnborough, the Peacocks will be keen to return to on-field matters and the matter of three points.

Swindon Supermarine arrive at the Viridor Stadium off the back of a run of four wins from seven league games, and they sit 11th in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division South table.

The reverse fixture in November finished 1-0 to Taunton, thanks to Ben Adelsbury's long-range strike.

Defender Adelsbury is a fitness doubt for tonight's fixture, having pulled out of Saturday's win shortly before kick-off.

The Peacocks do, however, welcome back midfielder Douglas Camilo, who has been out on loan at Bishops Lydeard.

Taunton chairman Kevin Sturmey confirmed that the match would be preceded by a minute's silence in tribute to Gordon Nelson, the club's former secretary, financial director and vice-president, who passed away this week.

Sturmey said of Nelson: "He was one of the nicest and most sincere people I've ever met.

"He was an absolute gentleman, he was always jovial and he just loved football.

"I think it's people like Gordon who should be recognised by the Honours system.

"He will be missed a lot by the club.

"It's great that he got to see our success last year [winning promotion to Southern League Premier level], as he was instrumental in helping me in our rebuilding of the club."
