TAUNTON racegoers can look forward to another great afternoon of action tomorrow, when the first of the seven events on the Winter Meeting card goes to post at 2pm.

A total of 51 horses have been declared on the good ground, with leading trainers – including Paul Nicholls, Alan King, Nicky Henderson, Phillip Hobbs, Gary Moore and David Pipe – all having runners.

Leading jockeys Tom Scudamore, Nico de Boinville, Barry Geraghty, Wayne Hutchinson and Bryony Frost are all booked for rides.

Taunton Racing Owners Club horse At His Own Expense, trained by Hobbs and ridden by Tom O’Brien, is running in the 2.35pm and, after finishing third the last three times out, those involved will be looking for something better.

The big race of the day is the Elizabeth Walters Birthday Chase at 3.45pm over two miles, where Whoshotwho, trained by Richard Newland and ridden by O’Brien, is likely to start as favourite.

A courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the off and returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last.
